HOMAGE TO GYPSY
This photographic sculpture of a street artwork is part of Consumer Loves, a series that interrogates the consumerism and it’s overarching influence our society as a whole. Street art—once anti-establishment and ephemeral—has been absorbed into a market that now trades in its aesthetics, stripping it of context while inflating its worth. One week it’s celebrated, commodified, and collected; the next, it’s forgotten, painted over, or replaced. By freezing a fragment of this cycle in sculptural form, the work highlights the fickle rhythms of cultural appetite, where style becomes trend and authenticity is consumed as fast as it appears. It asks: when art becomes product, what remains of its meaning?
